How will Man Utd line up vs Crystal Palace? A choice of pass or pace for Solskjaer

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer once again has plenty of decisions to make as Manchester United look for three Premier League points against Crystal Palace this weekend.

United followed up their 4-0 win over Chelsea at Old Trafford with a 1-1 draw at Wolves on Monday night, leaving themselves with a respectable four points from their opening two games of the 2019-20 season.

However, Solskjaer will likely be disappointed with how his side let a one-goal lead slip at Molineux - especially after Paul Pogba's second-half penalty miss.

Palace will pose a different tactical problem than either Chelsea or Wolves, with Roy Hodgson's Eagles likely to sit deep and look to hit United on the counter with the pace of Wilfried Zaha.

Daniel James made his first start for United at Wolves, but it would not necessarily be a surprise to see the young winger replaced by Juan Mata if Solskjaer opts to use the Spaniard's passing ability around what will be a congested penalty area.

Solskjaer dropped Andreas Pereira in favour of James at Wolves, and the United manager could be tempted to bring back the Brazilian after his strong showing against Chelsea.

Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford are in form and are guaranteed starters, especially given that Romelu Lukaku has been sold to Inter Milan and Alexis Sanchez is likely to follow on loan.

As for the defence, Eric Bailly is out until the New Year with a knee injury, and Marcos Rojo could join Fenerbahce. Either way the Argentine is unlikely to feature, while Phil Jones and Chris Smalling will be pushing for a recall after being left out of the last two matchday squads altogether.
