Roy Hodgson finally has a full complement of Crystal Palace defender to call upon with James Tomkins returning to full training.
They may be short when it comes to full-backs, but with the arrival of Gary Cahill adding to an already solid partnership of Tomkins and Mamadou Sakho, who himself made a return from injury before the international break, Hodgson is spoilt at centre-back.
With Sakho and Tomkins both having undergone surgery on respective knee and groin injuries at the back end of last season, neither have started for Palace so far this season. In their place have been Martin Kelly and Scott Dann before Cahill came in for his debut in the win at Manchester United last month.
While Palace have been struggling to score goals over the opening weeks of the season, keeping them out has gone rather well. Hodgon's side have kept three clean sheets in all competitions so far and conceding only twice.
A start for Sakho, who made his return from the bench against Aston Villa before the international break, is more likely than for Tomkins at Tottenham this weekend, though with back-to-back wins with Kelly and Cahill together at the back means Hodgson may be tempted to keep things as they are on Saturday.
Jordan Ayew is set to start ahead of Christian Benteke again after scoring two goals in three starts.
