How will Brazil’s President Bolsonaro face public anger?

How will Brazil’s President Bolsonaro face public anger?

Thousands of people have taken to the streets in Brazil demanding President Jair Bolsonaro be impeached over the nation’s health crisis.

Recent polls show his approval ratings have fallen.

Bolsonaro has been blamed for a lack of planning and delays in rolling out COVID vaccines.

Brazil is among the worst-hit countries with more than 217,000 coronavirus deaths, the second-highest number in the world.

The populist and conservative president took office in 2019 after defeating leftists who had ruled for decades.

His victory was seen as part of growing support for the far right in many countries.

So what does it mean for the wave of populism in Brazil and the region?
