How will Arsenal line up against Liverpool? Pepe to start, Granit Xhaka could replace Joe Willock

Arsenal head to Liverpool full of confidence following two wins from their opening two games. Given Liverpool’s lethal attack the temptation for Unai Emery would be to switch to a back-three.

However, Arsenal’s back-four has worked well in their opening games and it also proved successful in pre-season.

Consequently you would expect Emery to stick with the same defence that played against Burnley, but changes could take place further forward. Granit Xhaka is now fit and, given he captained Arsenal in their opening game against Newcastle, could come in for Joe Willock.

The 19-year-old has shone so far, but you suspect he may miss out at Anfield. Fellow teenager Reiss Nelson could also make way given that club-record signing Nicolas Pepe is now fit.

The Ivorian has so far only come off the bench, but he is now ready to start his first ever match for the Gunners.
