How West Ham’s next fixtures compare to Leeds, Wolves, Everton, Leicester and Nottingham Forest

West Ham United will go into Saturday’s meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers knowing that defeat would guarantee that they would drop into the relegation zone.

The Hammers ended a run of five straight league defeats in their last league match eight days ago against Leeds United, drawing 2-2 at Elland Road.

Both of West Ham’s final two league matches of January come against sides currently sat in the bottom three in Wolves (19th) and Everton (18th), with the Hammers 17th at present and only out of the relegation zone on goal difference.

Of the current bottom eight, West Ham have the joint-second easiest run of games across their next four matches, starting February with a trip to third-place Newcastle United before hosting Chelsea.

Nottingham Forest, who currently sit 15th, have a run that on paper, is just as hard as West Ham’s. Bottom of the table Southampton have the easiest run on paper, facing the sides in 18th and 19th within their next four games.

Bournemouth, currently in 16th, have the toughest run, playing three of the current top nine in their next four games.

Here is a look at the current bottom eight’s next four fixtures and how they compare to the rest of the sides currently fighting to beat the drop.
