West Ham could boost their transfer budget by £28m to sign Gomez & Ceballos

West Ham are looking at signing potentially up to six players this summer as Hammers manager Manuel Pellegrini embarks on another squad overhaul ahead of the new Premier League season.

The Chilean and the club's owners forked out £89m on new faces last summer, breaking the transfer record for the club twice in the process and while that is not expected to happen this time around the manager will be backed again - to an extent.

The chequebook will not be open as widely this time around but the boss will be allowed to re-invest in the squad with money gained from player sales and that could help them in their pursuits to sign reported targets such as Maxi Gomez and Dani Ceballos.

Not only will their fees go towards the kitty, but also getting their wages off the books as well will help out Pellegrini and director of football Mario Husillos in the market this summer.

Some of the higher earners at the club are certainly under threat, the likes of Javier Hernandez and Andy Carroll are among the top earners at the club with Carroll almost certain to go in the summer while Hernandez too could be on the chopping block.

So it's not only the fees the club would receive for the players, it is also their wages that will be going off the books. So how uch are those players under threat earning and how does that add up to a potential extra £28m to play with?

Javier Hernandez - £140,000 a week = £7.28m per year

Andy Carroll - £90,000 a week = £4.6m per year

Adrian - £50,000 a week = £2.6m per year

Anderson, Fernandes, Yarmolenko - the West Ham players who will make a huge impact next season

Lucas Perez - £80,000 a week = £4.16m per year

Pedro Obiang - £55,000 a week = £2.86m per year

Reece Oxford - £20,000 a week = £1.4m per year
