How Welsh MPs voted in two crucial votes over progress over Brexit

There was another huge defeat for the Prime Minister tonight.

Earlier in the night, the Prime Minister won a vote which was a kind of approval for his deal.

It meant MPs gave it their support to get it to its debate stage.

Mr Johnson said it was an important vote.

However, a second vote - about how long MPs should get to debate it - was lost by 14 votes.

Earlier in the day the Prime Minister warned that going for that option meant that either a General Election or no-deal Brexit were the most likely options.

He told the Commons after losing the second vote that he would pause progress on the Bill and put the ball in the court of the European Parliament. There was no mention of an election from the Prime Minister in his comments after the votes.

Jacob Rees-Mogg, the leader of the House of Commons, said that as business could now not go ahead as planned and debate on Wednesday and Thursday will be the resumption of the debate on the Queen's Speech.
