Liverpool has such a rich history and while so many of its iconic buildings and history remains, so many buildings and much-loved sights in the city have been lost.
If you stood in the spots where some of these landmarks once resided you would be left none the wise as to the existence of many of the magnificent buildings that once stood in those exact same locations. These landmarks have now been confined to people's memories and the archives of those institutions which outlasted them.
