How was your weekend running?

First up, we’re all pretending it’s still Monday, ok? I’m sure many of your were paralysed all day yesterday, with no weekend debrief to occupy your time. If we all just pretend the last 24 hours didn’t happen, then belatedly remember on Thursday that it’s actually Friday, everyone wins. OK? Right, lets move on.

So, I spent the weekend by the seaside. On Saturday I did Poole parkrun - a lovely course and a huge, rather special field which I’ve written about before. Then Sunday I had a 20 miler looming. A friend who lived locally took me on a tour of the poshest bit of Poole (Hello Sandbanks!) to do some run-by real estate viewing. Certainly takes your mind off the miles to come when you get to see how the other 0.5% live. Think we got a good six loops in of the Sandbanks peninsula to ogle Harry Rednapps house - and stay out of the wind a bit.

Then along the promenade through Bournemouth and beyond (my favourite beach name: “Gordon’s Zig Zag”) where she cruelly abandoned me after a mere 13 miles. The last five miles ended up being into a headwind, and the least said about them the better. But that’s my first really long run since just after London marathon done, and with Berlin looming it’s good to have those miles in the bag.

So, running blog friends, what did the weekend (you know, that thing that just finished yesterday evening, ok?) hold for you?
