How Virgil Van Dijk, Andy Robertson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Liverpool stars reacted to youngsters FA Cup heroics over Shrewsbury

Liverpool are through to the FA Cup fifth round and they have their youngsters to thank, as the U23 squad was called upon for the replay at Anfield.

After a 2-2 draw in the first leg, Jurgen Klopp declared the senior squad would not be called upon, due to their winter break in the Premier League, and he would also not take charge of the match.

In his absence, the young contingent advanced past Shrewsbury, courtesy of an own goal, to set up a exciting FA Cup fifth-round tie against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

While the senior squad were not in action, many still kept a close eye on proceedings and showed their support for the young Reds on social media.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain posted a clip of him watching the match on his Instagram story, then following it up post-match with a message that read: "What a performance! Yesss the boysss."

Virgil Van Dijk echoed that sentiment, adding 'well done' in his own social media post on Twitter, while Andy Robertson posted: "Go on the boys".

James Milner was in attendance at a sold-out Anfield, as the youngsters showed their worth and gave Klopp something to think about in the next round.
