How Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota pre-planned Liverpool goal against Arsenal

A moment of brilliance from Trent Alexander-Arnold helped Liverpool to find the breakthrough against Arsenal on Saturday.

The Reds right-back curled a pinpoint delivery onto the head of Diogo Jota from out wide and the Portugal international found the back of the net, adding to his impressive tally in a debut season at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp's side had dominated proceedings but looked to be heading for a draw against the Gunners until that first goal which forced Mikel Arteta's men out before they succumbed to a 3-0 defeat.

It was the first goal that made the difference and it appears the move was straight from the training ground - or at least the warm-up before the game.

Footage has emerged showing Alexander-Arnold whipping in a cross for Jota to head home while the Reds got ready for the match at the Emirates Stadium, in what was almost a mirror copy of what happened in the game.

Broadcast journalist Alison Bender filmed the clip and wrote on Twitter: "Practice makes perfect. Watched Trent AA practicing those whipped crosses pre match. Over and over."

Alexander-Arnold showed how much Jota's goal in the match meant to him as he clenched both fists and let out an impassioned scream in celebration.
