City, of course, will not be entering Europe's third-tier competition with the champions-elect having already secured Champions League for 2021-22, and this has a knock-on effect to their Conference League place.
The Conference League spot now drops to the next eligible team in the Premier League, this could be either the team in sixth or more likely seventh.
Due to Leicester and Chelsea facing each other in next month's FA Cup final, with the winner receiving a Europa League qualification place, seventh is likely to receive the English Conference League spot. Providing the FA Cup winner finishes in the top six.
Were either Chelsea or Leicester to drop out of the top six and win the FA Cup final then the Conference League spot would go to the team in sixth place in the Premier League.
As the Premier League table stands today fifth-placed West Ham would enter the Europa League along with Liverpool in sixth spot and Spurs would be the inaugural English entrants into the Conference League.
There are still two other possibilities that could alter the European places next season. If Arsenal win the Europa League despite sitting in tenth place in the Premier League, they would enter the Champions League as a reward for their European triumph.
If Chelsea are victorious in the Champions League and drop out of the top four they would also receive a spot in next season's Champions League. If both Arsenal and Chelsea are winners in Europe and crucially do not finish in the Premier League's top four then the team in fourth place would drop to the Europa League.
In this scenario, fifth would also receive a Europa League spot with sixth entering the new Conference League, and seventh missing out.
Chelsea are in action on Tuesday night away to Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final first leg, whilst Arsenal take on Villareal in the same round of the Europa League on Thursday evening.
As things stand a top-six finish guarantees European football for the 2021-22 season but seventh is likely to be enough.
With the Hammers in fifth place just two points ahead of Spurs in seventh and three ahead of Everton, who have a game in hand on West Ham, there is still an awful lot to play for over the final five games of the season.
