How Tottenham can benefit from Real Madrid's Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe transfer plans

Tottenham have endured a turbulent season but will be looking to finish the campaign on a high with the Carabao Cup final and push for European qualification.

A new era beckons in north London following the ill-fated stint of Jose Mourinho, though it remains to be seen who his long-term successor is as Ryan Mason's appointment as interim boss is only set to last until the end of the season.

Whoever comes in faces an extremely challenging task, with the potential of considerable exits on the cards and a squad that is in need of some rejuvenation.

Spurs are no strangers in dealing with Real Madrid and the financial difficulties of the Spanish giants could open the door for the north London side to take advantage, so we have identified some potential options.

Gareth Bale

Once the starring jewel in the Tottenham side, Gareth Bale's return to the club last summer did not immediately excel but the Wales international has improved considerably since the turn of the year.

Questions remain over his long-term future, with Real Madrid desperate to offload the high-earner but there are few suitors who would happily front his mammoth wages.

A permanent move to Spurs is a possibility but it would certainly require some movement on the financial side of things.

Lucas Vazquez

Out of contract at the end of the season, Lucas Vazquez has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs and Tottenham are among those reported to be in the running.

A much more affordable option than Bale, the 29-year-old would be a shrewd acquisition and his versatility would be a solid asset to the squad.

Luka Modric

The former Spurs star looks set to see his trophy-laden spell in the Spanish capital come to a close and is likely to have a number of suitors.

While a return to Spurs would be a surprise, considering the high finances involved, it is an opportunity that Daniel Levy would find difficult to ignore.

Isco

Reportedly available for a very affordable price of £18m this summer, Isco's name has been touted with a wide array of Premier League clubs and Spurs are among those to have had their name thrown into the ring.

Able to add a wealth of creativity, the versatility of the former Malaga man is also set to be a huge asset for whatever club lands his services.

Luka Jovic

Tottenham may find themselves in the market for a striker this summer with Harry Kane's future up in the air and Luka Jovic is a name who has been previously linked with a move.

While the Serbian striker never got going in Madrid, his form has improved on loan with Eintracht Frankfurt and a permanent sale is anticipated heading into the summer window.

Spurs could consider making a move for Jovic who, at 23-years-old, has plenty of years ahead of him to become settled in the Premier League.
