The EuroMillions jackpot has reached it's cap of €200 million ahead of tonight's draw.
After a huge buy in on Friday, nobody managed to take home to prize that will keep rolling on until a winner is found.
However, the jackpot won't be getting any bigger as the rules have it capped at €200 million.
What does this mean? Based on sales when the Jackpot is capped at €200m the jackpot could grow to €210m, then the jackpot remains capped at €200m but the excess €10m flows down to the next tier where there is a winner and is shared with those winner(s).
For example, on Friday the jackpot was not won; but 6 winners of match 5 & 1 Lucky Star won over €1.38 Million Each.
And if the tickets are sold as expected tonight, the runner up prize will be similarly lucrative.
The draw is expected to take place around 7:45pm with results released by 9pm.
However Lotto chiefs have also issued a word of warning to players across the country to adhere to Covid-19 guidelines - despite the excitement.
A National Lottery spokeswoman said: "With draws at this level, we would expect a big surge of interest from our players in the hours leading up to tonight’s draw.
"We are asking all of our players to continue to follow the health guidance currently in place and to buy their tickets early in-store, in-app and online at www.lottery.ie.”
