Course preparation

  • Attendees are encouraged to bring along an example of something that they are working on. This could be a manuscript for a picture book, an idea for a story, some example illustrations, or a portfolio of work.
  • There is no need to submit work in advance, please just bring it along to class if you wish to receive feedback and advice.

Rebecca Elliott is a children’s writer and illustrator whose books include The Owl Diaries and The Last Tiger. Her work has received several award nominations and wins, including a 2012 Kate Greenaway nomination for Zoo Girl. Rebecca’s acclaimed books about her disabled daughter, Just Because and Sometimes, have received praise from former UK Children’s Laureates Michael Rosen and Jacqueline Wilson.
