Neon is a trend no-one can ignore this season.
What started as a spattering of overpowering orange and lime green on the autumn/winter 2018 catwalk's has transitioned into a full-on street style trend.
Not only are designers including Prada, Off-White, Jeremy Scott, Louis Vuitton and Armani fully behind florescent shades, but celebrities from Kim Kardashian to Blake Lively and Bella Hadid can't get enough of the '80s-inspired looks too.
Arguably, pulling off the trend is a lot harder than the catwalks and celebrities have made out. So, if you need a little guidance, the Evening Standard's Sabrina Carder and Chloe Street have styled four looks for any occasion.
With the trend set to be staying in stories until at least spring/summer 2019, we recommend you start taking notes.
Daytime
A jumper dress (preferably of the roll-neck variety) is one of autumn 2018's biggest trends.
Add a neon hue to the silhouette and you've immediately got yourself a two-for-one deal. Hesitant about the oversized knit? There's a tonne of inspiration on how to style the item on Instagram.
If all else fails, pair with a chunky ankle boot, such as Dr Martens. To be fully onboard with 2018's streetwear trends, accessorise with teeny-tiny sunglasses and a bumbag.

Office
Thought neon and office attire were not the best of bedfellows? Think again.
The trick here is to take an accent of acid or lime (a roll neck, a silk scarf or a handbag are perfect) and pair it with grey or tweed tailoring to offset any outlandishness.
Feeling adventurous? Nothing screams corporate cool cat like a lime green pencil skirt.

Date night
Chic but cute. Fashionable but approachable. First date dressing can be a minefield. A minefield in which many would advise avoiding neon of any kind.
But done right and neon can make for the flirtiest of date attire. Pair a girly ruffle neon midi skirt in polka dot (one of the season’s major prints) with a girl-next-door biker jacket and white tee combo and you’ll instantly take the edge off the ‘man repeller’ trend.

Wearing neon for a night out without looking like you're going to a rave? Challenging, but not impossible.
Just add statement neon accessorises to your favourite LDB. Or, if you're looking to make an entrance, a statement suit in hot pink or sunshine yellow mixed with clashing accessories is a definite way to stand out from the crowd.
