Francis Ngannou and Cyril Gane will headline the first UFC pay-per-view of 2022 with the pair set to come head-to-head in a bout that will unify the UFC Heavyweight Championship.
Reigning champion Ngannou is set to fight for the first time since March 2021 when he saw off Stipe Miocic with a second-round knockout. Gane, meanwhile, is undefeated in his ten UFC fights, to date. He defeated Derrick Lewis via TKO to earn the interim title back in August.
Ngannou is said to have been angered by Dana White's decision to allow for the interim title fight to go ahead in the first place.
The man nicknamed 'The Predator' was originally scheduled to face Derrick Lewis in the summer but was unable to participate after it clashed with a trip to his native Cameroon.
Ngannou said: "At the end of the day, I’m the UFC heavyweight champion of the world. I’m still the champion. It’s not like somebody give it to me. I earned it. It’s my title."

Full UFC 270 Fight Card
Elsewhere on the UFC 270 fight card, flyweight champion Brandon Moreno defends his belt in a trilogy bout against the Brazilian Deveison Figueiredo.
The pair originally faced one another at UFC 256 in a fight that ended in a draw. Crucially, Figueiredo had a point deducted in Round 3 after repeated groin strikes.
In the rematch, Moreno came out victorious with a Performance of the Night victory that ended in a submission via rear-naked chokehold.
UFC 270 also sees the UFC pay-per-view debut of Said Nurmagomedov - cousin of Khabib.
