Real Madrid will hope to earn its first win of the competition and stay away from the bottom of Group A. They travel to face Galatasaray on Matchday 3 hoping to close the five-point gap that separates them from group leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
Also included on a packed Tuesday slate is a fixture between Real’s bitter rivals, Atletico Madrid, who Bayer Leverkusen at the Wanda Metropolitano. Los Rojiblancos know three points will temporarily take them clear of joint-Group D leaders Juventus, who are at home to Lokomotiv Moscow.
Manchester City already leads Group C by three points, but the team has an opportunity to move further ahead when it hosts Atalanta, currently at the bottom of the pool.
Fellow Premier League representatives Tottenham Hotspur have a grand opportunity to end a three-match winless streak when it hosts Red Star Belgrade in Group B. Bayern Munich leads the pool by three points and could increase the gap when it makes the trip to Olympiakos.
Champions League titleholders Liverpool resume the 2019-20 campaign on Wednesday and hope to beat Genk after edging Red Bull Salzburg 4-3 in its last European outing. The Belgian hosts have never met the Reds, and the midweek matchup could make for a tough introduction. Napoli, who lead Group E by one point, face what could be a tricky trip to Salzburg.
Chelsea faces a difficult task in attempting to beat Ajax away from home. The Blues lost 1-0 at home to Valencia on Matchday 1, but have since edged Lille in France, hoping to climb level with the Group H leaders in Amsterdam.
Inter Milan meets Borussia Dortmund in a Group F showdown that promises fireworks. The Nerazzurri host the joint-group leaders still seeking a first win to move off the bottom of the pile. Barcelona hopes to establish daylight in a visit to Slavia Prague.
