How to watch the SpaceX Starlink launch today, August 18

SpaceX's Starlink project will continue today with 58 more satellites being launched from the Kennedy Space Station in Florida.

A Falcon 9 rocket will launch into space at around 10.30am in Florida, roughly 3.30pm UK time.

58 satellites will be launched from Earth to join the almost 600 others already integrated into the Starlink network.

The payload will also deliver three hi-tech Earth-imaging satellites on behalf of another company, called Planet.

Space X have regularly launched rockets carrying the satellites from the space station in the last few months on a bi-weekly basis. The increased number of Starlink

"SpaceX is scheduled to launch the 11th mission of the constellation of networked satellites known as Starlink.", reads a statement on the Kennedy Space Station website.

"Riding along with Starlink satellites payload on this mission are three SkySat Earth-imaging satellites for Planet.”

What is the Starlink network for?

SpaceX's Starlink mission is to "provide internet services to those who are not yet connected, and to provide reliable and affordable internet across the globe."

Where can I watch the Starlink launch?

You will be able to watch the launch, free, from 3pm on the official SpaceX YouTube channel.

Find Starlink will also help eagle-eyed Brits try and spot the new satellites in the nights sky in the days to come.

Most are in the early hours of the morning, but some could be spotted on August 20 at around 9.46pm and 10.22pm on August 21.
