How to watch the SpaceX rocket launch tonight - even if you can't see it in the sky

The moment is nearly here for the launch of NASA and SpaceX's rocket which could be visible from Glasgow.

Take off is scheduled for 8.22pm UK time this evening.

The rocket might be visible from the city around 15 to 20 minutes later.

Wednesday's attempt at blasting Nasa astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken into orbit was postponed due to bad weather at Florida's Kennedy Space Center.

Forecasters say conditions there today will probably be touch and go again.

If you're planning on trying to catch a glimpse, the craft will pass over the UK from a westerly direction and will head east. It may be visible lower in the southern part of the sky as it flies past, according to MeteorWatch.

Luckily the weather forecast for Glasgow is sunny all day - the perfect conditions for some rocket spotting.

If you want to be absolutely sure you'll see the historic launch, you can register to see it live on the Nasa website, which also has loads of resources for anyone interested in the launch.

A NASA/ SpaceX launch will broadcast live on NASA TV a few hours before liftoff at 8:22pm BST.
