How to watch the Oscars live from the UK this weekend - time, live stream and more

The biggest night in Hollywood is back - even if it is a little later than usual.

As expected, the Oscars will look a little different this year to stay in keeping with the coronavirus restrictions after they were pushed back in March.

Whilst it's unclear how many guests are attending the ceremony, it has been confirmed that there will be no Zoom element to the Oscars whatsoever, after other award ceremonies received backlash for taking the virtual approach.

The ceremony is set to take place in two locations in Los Angeles at the Dolby Theatre, where it has been held since 2002, and Union Station in downtown LA.

Those nominees who can't make it to LA can instead visit venues in the likes of London and Paris, where they can be filmed for the broadcast, rather than calling in virtually from their homes.

But how can us Brits get a load of the action?

What time do The Oscars start UK time?

The 93rd Academy Awards ceremony takes place on April 25 in Los Angeles from 17:00 - 20:00 PT, with people arriving on the red carpet from mid-afternoon.

So for the UK, it will air between 01:00 - 04:00 BST, with the red carpet kicking off from around 11.30.

How to watch The Oscars in the UK

You can watch The Oscars live on the dedicated Sky Cinema Oscars channel, which will also be streamed online through NOW.

Existing Sky TV customers can sign up for Sky Cinema for £11 a month, which is discounted from the usual price of £19 per month and is part of an 18-month contract.

If you're not a Sky customer, but do want to watch the show, you can pay £11.99 a month for Now TV’s Sky Cinema Pass.

The usual cost of the Sky Cinema Pass is £11.99 a month, but new subscribers get a seven-day free trial, so you could watch the Oscars for free.

The subscription will auto-renew when the trial is up, so make sure to cancel if you don't want to continue.
