Hockey’s top players suit up Saturday night for the 2020 NHL All-Star Game at Enterprise Center in St. Louis. The exhibition begins at 7:15 p.m. CT and will be broadcast nationally on NBC.
For the fifth consecutive year, the NHL is having its All-Stars face off in a four-team, 3-on-3 tournament. Fans voted for the captain to represent each division, then the league announced the rest of the rosters in late December. Fans also elected the “Last Men In” to the game with a vote in early January.
The first matchup in the tournament will pit the Atlantic Division, boasting scorers like David Pastrnak and Jack Eichel, against a Metropolitan Division team led by Mathew Barzal and John Carlson. (The Metro would have a stronger lineup, but it’s already lost Alex Ovechkin, Artemi Panarin and others to injury or a decision to sit out for rest.)
The Central Division, led by captain Nathan McKinnon and Blackhawks star Patrick Kane, will follow up by taking on the Pacific Division, highlighted by the Oilers’ Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
The winners of those respective matchups will meet in a final to determine the champion. The Pacific and Metro have each won twice in the previous four years under this format.
