The Jacksonville Jaguars weren’t the only team in the AFC South to take a loss Week 1 as their Week 2 opponents, the Houston Texans, will be getting over a loss of their own courtesy of the New Orleans Saints. That said, both teams will enter Sunday in desperation mode for a win within the division.
Week 2’s divisional matchup will be one that may be more of an uphill battle for the Jags, who lost their starting quarterback Nick Foles (at least until Week 11) with a broken clavicle. Starting in his place will be Gardner Minshew II, who has taken the media by storm after an impressive Week 1 showing where he went 22-of-25 for 275 yards, two touchdowns and a pick.
As for the Texans, quarterback Deshaun Watson and company looked good against the Saints and made Monday nigh football look like a heavyweight battle. However, the one thing that was worth noting is the fact that the Texans’ offensive line looked just as suspect as it did last season, giving up six total sacks on the night. If the Jags can get defensive linemen, Yannick Ngakoue, Calais Campbell and Marcell Dareus healthy off the injury report, it could be a long afternoon for Watson, who is already somewhat nicked up with a minor back injury.
