The Seahawks will open their preseason this Thursday night when they host the Denver Broncos at CenturyLink Field. After a winless preseason in 2018 – the first in franchise history – Seattle is hoping to snap the streak with a victory in the first matchup.
“Well, there’s a lot of excitement about this because we wait so long,” coach Pete Carroll said Tuesday. “The anticipation all throughout the offseason, we talk about the game so often and it finally gets here.”
With so many new faces on the team and a full roster of 90 players, Carroll is excited to finally up the tempo to evaluate the product on the field.
“The first time we’ll go full speed is when we kick off, as far as getting people on the ground,” Carroll explained. “It’s a big deal to us. It’s a really, really big deal to the guys that have their first opportunity, the guys that are here for the first time. We dedicate the game to those guys and make sure they get a lot of playtime and opportunity to know that they are in a football game for the first time.”
