Leeds United’s young players will have a chance to test themselves against League Two's bottom team in the Papa John’s Trophy tonight.
The Papa John's Trophy pits Premier League under-21s against League One and League Two opposition, and tonight the Leeds U21s face Oldham Athletic, who have struggled so far this season and are rock bottom of League two.
Last season Leeds U21s lost all three of their group games in the competition, against Accrington Stanley, Barrow and Blackpool, and with competition for places in Leeds' first team on the line, players will no doubt be hoping to perform better.
This season Leeds U21s are up against Tranmere Rovers, Oldham Athletic and Salford City. Earlier this month they lost their first group match, which was against Tranmere. They will play their final group match against Salford in November.
Tonight’s group match against Oldham Athletic at Boundary park may prove another tough test for the U21s, with Oldham no doubt eager to turn their season around.

The match takes place on Tuesday, September 28. Kick off is at 7pm.
