How to watch Nicola Sturgeon's three-week review of coronavirus restrictions today

Nicola Sturgeon is urging Scots to tune into the latest update on coronavirus restrictions this afternoon.

The First Minister is required by law to update MSPs every three weeks on whether existing rules are having a positive impact on the fight against coronavirus.

Scots are unlikely to see an easing of restrictions today as new infections continue to rise at a rate of more than 1,000 a day in Scotland.

MSPs are also likely to quiz the government on whether a travel ban in the worst affected health board areas is under consideration.

New rules on face coverings and the reopening of hospitality later this month are both expected to be outlined as Sturgeon addresses MSPs in a rare virtual session.

Tweeting ahead of the review, Nicola Sturgeon said: “I will give today’s Covid update - including the outcome of our three weekly review of restrictions - to MSPs in a virtual session of @ScotParl starting at 12.20pm.

“Please tune in if you can.”

Scots will be able to watch the session on the Scottish Parliament TV website from 12.20pm this afternoon.

The address will also be available on both the BBC Scotland and BBC One Scotland channels, when the Politics Scotland programme kicks off at 12.15pm.

Daily Record readers will be able to follow the address on our live blog.
