Manchester United begin their pre-season preparations against Leeds as the familiar foes face off in Sweden.
In what is becoming a tradition for United, they kick off the summer in Scandinavia after Rosenborg were Erik ten Hag’s first opponents last summer. In fact, these two teams met in Norway in 2015 and again in 2023.
This afternoon’s game is being held at the brilliantly named Strawberry Arena, were United, under Jose Mourinho, beat Ajax to win the Europa League in 2017.
Matheus Cunha is expected to make his debut after joining from Wolves for £62.5million, while the likes of young forward Chido Obi will be hoping to impress further after scoring twice in a post-season friendly against Hong Kong. Bryan Mbeumo will not be signed in time, with his medical scheduled this weekend.
Ruben Amorim will be desperate to shake off an utterly miserable first season with United and turn the leaf on what simply must be an improved first full campaign.
