Early team news

Frank Lampard confirmed in his press conference on Thursday that Nathan Patterson is facing another spell on the sidelines.

Patterson was forced off just after the hour mark in Everton’s defeat to Brighton, having only returned from an ankle injury before the World Cup.

"Nathan's out for six weeks, unfortunately. It’s a medial ligament injury,” Lampard revealed. "It’s a blow for us. He’s a young full-back who’s come in, broke through and done really well for us. We know that.

“Now it’s time for others to take that mantle and he’ll be back in six weeks. It seems a long time now but he’ll be back.”

Lampard also said that Dominic Calvert-Lewin is suffering from fatigue, while Yerry Mina has recovered from a recent illness. It remains to be seen if Anthony Gordon has recovered in time from his illness to feature against United.
