How to watch Manchester United vs Aston Villa: TV channel and stream information, team news

Whilst the majority of the Premier League clubs get under way this weekend, Manchester United's European exploits mean fans are forced to wait for the new season to start.

The Reds have been given a week-long break from Premier League action in order to give them a rest after taking part in last month's Europa League.

But they will still be playing football this weekend in a pre-season friendly against Aston Villa.

Here are the details you need to know about the game.

Match details

The game takes place this afternoon Saturday, September 12.

It's being played at Villa Park behind closed doors and will be both clubs' last friendlies before their season kicks off.

United begin their campaign against Crystal Palace on September 19.

TV and live stream details

With the Premier League kicking off today, the game will not be shown on any of the major broadcasters.

Instead, MUTV will be showing the match - but not live.

The full 90 minutes will be shown on delay, starting at 10pm.

It will also be shown on MUTV's official website on delay.

And we'll be running a live blog covering the whole match - as live - as it's broadcast from 10pm tonight, here on the MEN website.

Team news

This game will give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer one final time to look at his squad ahead of the new season.

It could be the first time Donny van de Beek is seen in a United shirt following his move from Ajax.

There will likely be no place for Mason Greenwood, though.

The United forward, who was axed from the England squad after breaching quarantine rules, is awaiting the results of a coronavirus test, meaning he is training alone.
