This will be the first time United and Wolves have met this season, but Erik ten Hag will be hoping that his side can do better than their last meeting.

Wolves have always been a difficult opponent for United, and their meeting under Ralf Rangnick was no different with the Midlands sides coming out 1-0 victors at Old Trafford thanks to a goal for Joao Moutinho late in the match.

United team news

United fans will be glad to see that Lisandro Martinez is back in training after returning from the World Cup. Scott McTominay and Victor Lindelof missed the fixture against Forest due to illness but they are also expected to be back.

Diogo Dalot returned from the World Cup with a hamstring injury and has subsequently missed United's last two games, but there is a chance he could return to the squad for Wolves. Jadon Sancho and Axel Tuanzebe are highly unlikely to feature.
