How to watch 'Lost Doctor Who' online and for free

William Hartnell as the Doctor in the Lost Doctor Who episodes.

Incredibly, 95 episodes of "Doctor Who" were once deleted from the archives and seemingly lost forever, but some of them have since been recovered - and Whovians can watch stream them right now.

Here's how to watch "Lost Doctor Who" online from anywhere with this VPN — and potentially for free.

"Lost Doctor Who" - How to watch

The 2026 "Lost Doctor Who" episodes are available to watch now in the U.K., U.S. and beyond.
• WATCH FREE — BBC iPlayer (U.K.)
• U.S. — Britbox
• Canada — Britbox
• Australia — Britbox
• Watch BBC anywhere — use NordVPN 100% risk-free

Thankfully, through an incredible combined effort from restoration groups, devoted fans, and the BBC, a handful of the episodes are back. In fact, two episodes from the 'Daleks' Master Plan' arc were recovered as recently as March 2026.

The first two episodes are from season 3: "The Nightmare Begins" (The TARDIS lands on the planet Kembel) and "Devil's Planet" (the Doctor and his friends escape Kembel in Mavic Chen's ship but the Daleks give chase).

Excited to see these new additions to the Who archive? Here's how you can watch "Lost Doctor Who" episodes online and from anywhere.

How were the old "Doctor Who" episodes 'lost'?

At the time, viewers were enthralled by the concept of regeneration, but for many years, it really was a case of having to be there to believe it. The BBC deleted a big chunk of their old shows to free up space in the archives, not considering the fact that any of this content would be useful in the future. Seasons 3, 4, and 5 of "Doctor Who" were affected, leaving fans unable to see where it all began for this venerable hero.

What else can I watch on BBC iPlayer?
