How to watch Liverpool vs Mainz 05 friendly with TV channel and live stream

Jurgen Klopp reunites with some old friends on Friday night as the Reds lock horns for their third pre-season test against FSV Mainz 05 in Austria.

The game forms as part of Liverpool's pre-season preparations for the upcoming Premier League season which kicks off on August 14 with the 19-time English champions starting proceedings against newly-promoted Norwich City.

Two 30-minute mini-games against FC Wacker Innsbruck and VfB Stuttgart saw the Reds in action for the first time as they got important minutes in the bank with Divock Origi and Sadio Mane scoring in respective 1-1 draws.

Bo Svensson's side finished 12th in the Bundesliga last season and started their pre-season off with a 2-1 win over Wurzburger Kickers.

Liverpool's German head coach enjoyed seven years in the Rhine after ending his playing career to take charge of the club. He led them to the Bundesliga for the first time in their history in 2004, managing the current Mainz boss during his time there too.

The latest instalment of their time in Austria offers another glimpse into what fans can expect after they were impressed with Kaide Gordon and new-signing Ibrahima Konate's displays in both of the 30-minute friendlies.

It will be their first full 90-minute match of the tour and is their penultimate game with Hertha Berlin concluding their time in Austria.

What is the early team news?

Andy Robertson returned to fold following his break following the European Championships today, so it may come too soon for the Scot.

There may be some involvement from Diogo Jota who arrived earlier in the week, with Neco Williams and Harry Wilson arriving on Monday, but there has been no confirmation about the three returnees playing on Friday.

Jurgen Klopp however did offer an insight into how the team may change, he said: “That will be a tough one, clear, but no problem. They are good.

"My former player is the manager there now; again a former player of mine is the manager now at Mainz, which is great.

"Looking forward to seeing them and the game is the next step for us definitely. Then the normal situation with a lot of changes, 45 and 45 I’m pretty sure. Then let’s go for that.”
