Liverpool travel to League One Lincoln City for their third round Carabao Cup tie this evening, looking to continue their perfect start to the new season.

Jurgen Klopp's side have won each of their first two Premier League games but now turn their attentions to competition they have won a record eight times.

Klopp is likely to rotate his side with a crunch league meeting with Arsenal to come at the weekend, meaning there could be debuts for summer signings Diogo Jota and Kostas Tsimikas, while several of the youngsters who impressed when called upon in the domestic cups last season may get further chances.

Thiago Alcantara was forced into an early debut in the win over Chelsea on Sunday, replacing the injured Jordan Henderson at half-time, but could get more minutes as he builds towards full fitness.

Henderson will not be involved, while both Joe Gomez and Joel Matip have also been ruled out after missing the trip to Stamford Bridge with minor injuries.

A meeting with Arsenal awaits in round four after the Gunners beat Leicester 2-0 on Wednesday night.
