Jake Paul is taking on his biggest challenge yet as he faces Anthony Joshua in a heavyweight bout titled 'Judgement Day' set to take place on December 19. Some may call it genius from Paul where others may call it blind optimism, either way, he's landed a fight against the former heavyweight champ of the world live on Netflix.
Last time out for Paul he defeated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in a 10-round cruiserweight bout. The boy from Ohio has also defeated Tyron Woodley, an ill-prepared Nate Diaz, a 47-year old Anderson Silva and Mike Tyson who's not far from his 60th birthday. Paul was set to fight Gervonta Davis in a similar event on Netflix, however, the bout was cancelled due to a civil lawsuit against Davis.
The big question however is on Anthony Joshua, who after 12 months out of the ring has returned in a fight nobody expected. Last time we saw Joshua in the ring, he was fighting for heavyweight titles against Daniel Dubois, proving he's still capable of performing at the highest level, making this fight even stranger.
Does this prove anything for Anthony Joshua? and is it a lose-lose situation for the man from Watford? If he wins then nobody cares but if he loses his heavyweight career is essentially over. It's fair to say that all boxing fans want to see Joshua fight Fury but with fights like this taking place, it leaves fans wondering if it will ever take place and if so, will they both be well past it?
