The F1 paddock is in Budapest this weekend, August 1-3, for the Hungarian Grand Prix, and once again, all eyes will be on the McLaren duo of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris who are locked in a tight battle at the top of the drivers’ standings.
The duo were well clear of the rest of the field in Friday's qualifying sessions but neither driver was able to grab pole position after Ferrari's Charles Leclerc delivered a stunning lap on Saturday.
LeClerc pipped Piastri by just 0.026 seconds to grab a sensational pole, with Norris back in third. The McLaren driver trails his teammate by 16 points in the drivers' standings and will be looking for a fast start when the lights go out at the Hungaroring.
Mercedes' George Russell was fourth, ahead of the two Aston Martins, as Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll locked out the third row. Reigning champion Max Verstappen will start from eighth, while eight-time winner Lewis Hamilton failed to progress beyond the second knock-out session and will start 12th.
