How to watch Gabriel Martinelli's Arsenal return in the Papa John's Trophy this evening

football.london understands that Gabriel Martinelli will make his Arsenal return on Tuesday night.

The Brazilian has been out with a serious knee injury he sustained in training in June, and was expected to be out until next year.

However, he is now expected to start the under-21s Papa John's Trophy game against AFC Wimbledon. He will play 45-60 minutes before being withdrawn as a precaution.

Many Arsenal fans are excited about the return of the 19-year-old and will be wondering how they can watch it.

Gooners will be able to tune into the game via a stream on AFC Wimbledon's official website. The match will cost £10 to view and kicks off at 6pm.

Young talents like Premier League 2 player of the month nominee Nikolaj Moller, Catalin Cirijan, Miguel Azeez and Folarin Balogun may also feature on the night.

The return of Martinelli is good news for Arsenal though who have struggled for goals this season. The Gunners have scored just 10 in 11 Premier League matches this season.

Martinelli alone managed that many across all competitions in his debut season last campaign.

After the Brazilian made his return to training early this month Mikel Arteta spoke openly about the positive influence he could have on the Gunners' faltering season.

"Gabi is another one that even in a moment of adversity, you see him training and everything he brings to the team, his energy, his passion, his motivation, is translating positive emotions to everybody" he said.

"He tries and goes and goes again and he wants to score a goal. He’s ruthless in training in every single action and the more players and staff you have to add that, at the end that gets translated to what happens on the football pitch and over time you will be stable.

"Gabi’s pressing brings something different to the team and we need players like him."

However, the Spaniard was keen to protect the 19-year-old from too much hype at such a young age particularly after such a serious injury.

“Time is the key word in this industry and nobody’s going to give you time,” he said.

“The moment the ball doesn’t go in the net and you lose a match, you’re going to question all the rest. So with Gabi it’s the same. Now he needs time.

"He’s never done it. I’m sorry, he’s never done it, so we cannot put that pressure on him. It’s like with Bukayo and other young players that we have, they’ve never done it in their career, so why do you expect him to do it today?

"And in which environment? In which context? Patience, but he’s a positive guy to have back on the team because he’s such a character."
