The New Orleans Saints were expected to be one of the best teams in the NFL this season following last year’s NFC Championship Game appearance. And with the way they have overcome injuries this season, they have certainly lived up to that billing. This week, the Saints host an Atlanta Falcons team that has struggled throughout the year and is in the mix for the top pick in the upcoming NFL Draft rather than the postseason.

The Saints got their sixth straight win last week in a 31-9 drubbing of the Arizona Cardinals. Drew Brees threw for 373 yards and three touchdowns. The Saints defense also held Arizona without a touchdown. One of the impressive things about the Saints this season has been their ability to deal with injuries. With Drew Brees, Alvin Kamara and Jared Cook all missing time this season due to various ailments, the Saints still find themselves at 7-1 heading into this contest, with all three players scheduled to return.
Atlanta, meanwhile, picked up its sixth straight loss its last time out with a 27-20 defeat to the Seattle Seahawks. Backup quarterback Matt Schaub threw for a whopping 460 yards in the game, but the Falcons turned the ball over three times, while the Seahawks did not commit any turnovers. Starting quarterback Matt Ryan is scheduled to return from injury in this game.
