Duplantis, who's set 15 men's pole vault world records over the past six years and cleaned up at the Olympics, world championships and European championships, was beaten for the first time in three years in June. He was then forced to withdraw from last month's London Diamond League with a thight problem, finishing second.
Reigning Olympic and European 800m champion Hodgkinson has had her eyes firmly set on the 43-year-old world record throughout 2026, only for Audrey Werro to burst onto the scene. Hodgkinson set a British record in June, only to finish second to the 22-year-old Swiss, who clocked the third-fastest time in history. After making the 800m switch a few months ago, legendary 400m hurdler Femke Broeders-Bol is beginning to find her stride in the event.
