Thomas Tuchel has since been boosted by the availability of Arsenal quartet Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze after they were given extra time off following the Champions League final.

As such, all 26 players in the World Cup squad, in addition to the non-squad training players such as Alex Scott and Ethan Nwaneri - trained on Tuesday and are ready to be called upon if selected.

Costa Rica will not participate in North America and go into today’s friendly on the back of a 3-1 loss to Colombia. Fernando Batista’s side have now won just one of their last 11 internationals and aren’t expected to provide a formidable test for England.

This fixture could be hit by stormy weather conditions. The threat of thunderstorms will lead to fears that the match might be potentially disrupted or delayed.
