The Philadelphia Eagles (3-3) come to AT&T Stadium to face the Cowboys (3-3) in a Sunday night showdown. Dallas won both meetings in 2018, including a 29-23 overtime thriller at home in Week 14. Can quarterback Dak Prescott and the offense overtake the Eagles and avoid their fourth straight loss off the season after starting 3-0?

Philadelphia dropped its record to 3-3 after a 38-20 road loss to Minnesota. Carson Wentz threw for 306 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, but the Eagles receivers have been underwhelming and continue to drop passes. Without Desean Jackson, teams have been double-teaming tight end Zach Ertz, who still manages to be one of the best tight ends in the league. Alshon Jeffrey led the team with 76 yards and one touchdown. The Vikings held running back Jordan Howard to just 49 yards on 13 carries. Miles Sanders wasn’t productive in the run game, but did manage to haul in three catches for 86 yards and one touchdown. There is no question this Eagles offense can put up points, but they will need to be more consistent. Coach Doug Pederson predicted this week that his team will pull out the victory in Dallas. Will it motivate his team or backfire and give the Cowboys bulletin board material?
Defensively, the Eagles secondary continues to struggle and is ranked near the bottom of the NFL standings in pass defense with opponents averaging 280.2 YPG. Kirk Cousins racked up 333 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception last weekend. The Vikings offensive performance marked the fourth game out of six this season that the Eagles gave up over 300 yards passing. However, the rush defense has been one of the best in the league with opponents picking up an average 72.8 yards per game on the ground. They did an excellent job holding Dalvin Cook to just 41 yards and one touchdown and will have another tough task this weekend against a versatile Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott.
Chaos is ensuing in Cowboys country as Dallas has lost its last three games after starting out 3-0. Without starting tackles La’el Collins and Tyron Smith, the team fell 24-22 to the Jets on the road, giving them their first win of the year. Dak Prescott completed 28 of 40 passes for 278 yards to bring his total to 1,884 yards–third-best in the NFL. While Prescott was unable to find the end zone with his arm, he did rush for 11 yards and one score. Elliott rushed for over 100 yards for the third time this season and one touchdown. The team’s No. 1 receiver Amari Cooper had just one catch for three yards in limited action and is likely to miss this week’s contest with a quadriceps injury. Even though the Cowboys have lost their last three games, they are still one of the best offenses in all of football with an average of 443.8 YPG.
The Dallas defense is ranked in the Top 10, with opponents on average scoring under 20 points per contest. Leighton Vander Esch and Xavier Woods are heavy hitters who had 10 and nine tackles respectively against the Jets, while Robert Quinn added two tackles and two sacks on the game. The defense did a good job of stopping the Jets on third down, as they were only able to convert two out of 10 attempts.
