How to watch Donald Trump's Oval Office announcement today

DONALD Trump is set to make an announcement later today, with speculation surrounding his health and absence from the public eye.

Trump is slated to make an unspecified announcement from the Oval Office after the phrase "Trump is dead" exploded on social media this week due to the US president not being seen in public for several days, leading to growing concerns over his health.

The White House calendar added an event labelled “THE PRESIDENT makes an announcement" with no other detail on the content, adding further speculation.

Trump’s absence follows recent photographs which showed the US president with what appears to be a bruising on his hand along with swollen legs, which led to further social media chatter about whether his health was declining.

On Sunday, Trump shared a snap on his Truth Social platform showing him on the golf course with former football coach Jon Gruden. "Great playing Golf with Jon Gruden – A really nice guy, and true character!" he wrote. However, Gruden had uploaded a picture to his Twitter/X account a week prior sporting identical attire to that seen in Trump's post, suggesting Trump's upload was harking back to an earlier round of golf.

Elsewhere, vice president JD Vance, in trying to quash the rumours of Trump’s death, has apparently only made it worse, insisting he is ready to take the top job in case of a “terrible tragedy” were to happen to the US president.

What time is Donald Trump's announcement?

Trump will be speaking from the Oval Office at 2pm.

With the US city of Washington DC five hours behind GMT, his speech will be broadcast 7pm in the UK.

How can I watch Donald Trump's announcement in the UK?

The speech will be broadcast on major news channels, with a live stream on Sky News' YouTube channel, which you can find here.

The BBC will also be airing it on the BBC News channel.

What is Donald Trump's announcement about?

With speculation rife about his health, the president may address the ongoing rumours.

There are also some speculation it may be entirely unconnected.

Some are hypothesising he could stand down, though that seems very unlikely.
