Indianapolis won its third straight game when it defeated the Denver Broncos, 15-13, in Week 8. Their defense was the key to success in that game, as they held the Joe Flacco led Broncos to 279 total yards. And despite missing an extra point early in the game, Adam Vinatieri was the hero when he converted on a 51-yard field goal in the final seconds to lift the Colts to victory. Against a tough Steelers defense, Jacoby Brissett and the offense will need to step up to keep Indy’s hot streak intact.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will enter this contest on a short week, having played the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football to close out last week’s action. Since losing Ben Roethlisberger for the season, a combination of Mason Rudolph and Devlin Hodges have kept the Steelers in the mix in the AFC. Rudolph helped the Steelers get a 27-14 win vs. Dolphins by going 20-for-36 with two touchdown passes and one interception. In order to catch up to the wild card leaders, though, the Steelers will need more consistent offensive production across the board starting with their showdown against the Colts.
