Liam Rosenior will lead Chelsea for the first time in tonight’s FA Cup clash with Charlton.

The Blues officially begin yet another new era in an all-London third-round tie at The Valley, having agreed the shock exit of former boss Enzo Maresca on New Year’s Day.

Under-21s coach Calum McFarlane - now part of Rosenior’s senior staff - has since been the lead man in the dugout for Premier League games against Manchester City and Fulham.

However, now the new manager takes the reins after leaving BlueCo sister club Strasbourg for a huge opportunity, looking to quickly improve upon Chelsea’s woeful recent form that has seen them win only one of their last nine matches across all competitions amid yet more disciplinary problems that once again proved costly in their 2-1 derby loss at Craven Cottage in midweek.

Despite that disappointing run, they will still be firm favourites to avoid an upset against Charlton, who currently sit 19th in the Championship and only five points above the relegation zone.

The Addicks go into this game on the back of successive league draws with Coventry and Blackburn, with Nathan Jones’ side winning just one of their last 11.
