The Denver Broncos and Green Packers haven’t played each other since 2015, but that all changes this Sunday afternoon at Lambeau Field. The Broncos are looking for their first win of the season, while the Packers are looking for their third straight victory after back-to-back divisional contests.

It’s been a disappointing two weeks for Broncos fans. The team has lost it’s first two games by a combined 10 points and come within a touchdown of winning each game. In Week 1, the Broncos lost, 24-16, at Oakland and followed that up with a gut wrenching, 16-14, loss at home against Chicago. Joe Flacco threw for 292 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, while the running game failed to get going. Royce Freeman and Phillip Lindsay had a combined 90 yards. Emmanuel Sanders led all Bronco receivers with 98 yards and one touchdown.
Unfortunately for the Broncos defense, who played a decent game, Bears’ kicker Eddie Pineiro made field goals of 40 and 52 yards, along with a 53-yard game-winning boot. Bradley Chubb, Von Miller and the rest of the defense had zero sacks and zero hits on Raiders’ quarterback Derek Carr. That will have to change against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers on Sunday afternoon. The Broncos also boast the fourth-best passing defense in the NFL, allowing 189.5 yards per game, so the matchup of their corners against Davonte Adams should be fun to watch.
Green Bay is off to a 2-0 start and it couldn’t have come in more crucial games. The Packers kicked off the NFL’s 100th season against the Chicago Bears. Green Bay won, 10-3, and proceeded to move up the NFC North standings with a 21-16 victory over the Minnesota Vikings at home. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Aaron Jones provided a balanced attack with 116 yards on the ground and one touchdown while Davante Adams led all Packers receivers with 106 yards.
Defensively, the Packers did give up several big plays to running back Dalvin Cook and wide receivers Chad Beebe and Stefon Diggs, but overall they played well, turning four takeaways into 16 points. Inside linebacker Blake Martinez tallied 13 tackles against the Vikings. Darnell Savage Jr. and Za’Darius Smith each had six tackles, while Preston Smith and Kevin King each recorded an interception in the game.
