For the second straight week, the Buffalo Bills head to MetLife Stadium for an NFL regular season contest. Last week, the Bills edged the Jets 17-16. Now it’s the Giants, who own a 7-6 all-time series lead, winning the last three meetings. In the last game back in 2015, Eli Manning threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns in a 24-10 victory.

The Buffalo Bills tried to instill confidence in quarterback Josh Allen by calling 17 consecutive passing plays in the season opener against the New York Jets. Allen threw for 254 yards, one touchdown and one interception as the Bills rallied down 16-3 at the end of the third quarter to a 17-16 victory. Allen also had 38 yards rushing and one touchdown on the ground. Rookie running back Devin Singletary rushed for 70 yards on four carries in his NFL debut. John Brown made seven catches for 123 yards and one touchdown.

While the Bills offense didn’t dazzle and underperformed for three quarters of the game, the defense was impressive. Safety Jordan Poyer led the unit with nine tackles and one sack. Linebacker Matt Milano also had nine tackles, while Tremaine Edmunds notched eight tackles. Buffalo only allowed one offensive touchdown in the game and tallied four sacks on Jets quarterback Sam Darnold.

The New York Giants are trying to avoid going 0-2 for the fifth time in six seasons on Sunday afternoon. Their 35-17 loss in Dallas wasn’t a pretty one, but the team had some positive takeaways. Eli Manning threw for 306 yards and one touchdown, while reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Saquon Barkley rushed for 120 yards on 11 carries. The offensive line is much improved from last season, paving holes for Barkley and protecting Manning from the rush. With Odell Beckham Jr. being traded and Golden Tate suspended, tight end Evan Engram was the leading receiver with 116 yards and one touchdown. Sterling Shepard suffered a concussion in the game. As a result the team resigned wide receiver T.J. Jones, who was with the team during the preseason.

Defensively, the Giants will have to improve in Week 2 if they want to beat the Bills. Dak Prescott threw for over 400 yards against them. Safeties Jabril Peppers and Antoine Bethea led the team with seven and six tackles, respectively. That’s never a good sign when your last line of defense is at the top of the state line in that category.
