The Buffalo Bills are 6-2, while the Cleveland Browns are 2-6 on the season. The two teams will meet at FirstEnergy Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Cleveland leads the all-time series 12-9, but the Bills have won four of the last five. Buffalo’s only loss in that stretch came in 2013 on the road.

Buffalo rebounded from a 31-13 loss last week to Philly by beating the Redskins, 24-9, at home for its sixth win of the season. Josh Allen completed 14 of 20 passes for 160 yards and one touchdown. Devin Singletary was the team’s leading rusher with 20 carries for 95 yards and one score, while John Brown picked up four catches for 76 yards. The Bills’ offense is near the bottom third in every category, except for rushing yards (11th) and will need to improve as the season progresses.
The defense has been their strength all season long. The Bills are ranked third in points allowed, passing yards allowed and total yards allowed. Despite the Browns’ 2-6 record, they have offensive weapons in Baker Mayfield, Nick Chubb, Odell Beckham Jr., and Jarvis Landry and shouldn’t be taken lightly. Against the Redskins, Buffalo pressured quarterback Dwayne Haskins, allowed just 144 yards passing and forced four sacks. Micah Hyde and Tremaine Edmunds led the way with nine tackles, while Jordan Poyer and Matt Milano each made seven tackles.
Cleveland can’t seem to catch a break this season. The Browns lost their fourth game in a row, 24-19, to a weak Broncos team on the road. Baker Mayfield was 27 of 42 for 273 yards and one touchdown, and was sacked two times. Nick Chubb rushed for 65 yards on 20 carries, marking his second-lowest total this season. Chubb has amassed 805 yards this season, fourth-best in the NFL. The Bills’ rush defense is allowing 111.6 yards per game and the Browns should try and exploit this. Odell Beckham Jr. led the team with five catches for 87 yards. Can OBJ and Jarvis Landry provide a 1-2 punch on the outside for Cleveland?
Brandon Allen didn’t exactly put up amazing numbers in his first NFL start, but he did spark a Broncos offense that struggled mightily throughout the first half of the season. Allen threw for 193 yards and two touchdowns, while running back Phillip Lindsay carried the ball nine times for 92 yards and one score. The Browns defense tallied three sacks against Denver and is a physical team upfront. Mack Wilson led the unit with five tackles and one sack, while Larry Ogunjobi and Olivier Vernon each added another sack. Myles Garrett is second in the NFL with 10 sacks on the season.
