Despite losing starting quarterback Mitch Trubisky, the Bears got a gritty 16-6 win over Minnesota last weekend. Chase Daniel will be making his fifth career start as Chicago looks to move to 4-1 after losing its first of the season. Daniel, the 32-year-old veteran out of Missouri, was very good in emergency duty against the Vikings, completing 22 of 30 passes and connecting with Tarik Cohen for the game’s sole touchdown.
It’s been an up and down season for the Raiders so far. Their 2-2 start is impressive considering the off-the-field issues caused by Antonio Brown all preseason. While their 31-24 win over the Indianapolis Colts should’ve been the headline for their week of preparations, it’s been overshadowed by Vontaze Burfict’s controversial hit on tight end Jack Doyle. Burfict was handed a season-long suspension for the hit and his numerous past transgressions.
The incident overshadowed a very good win that featured Derek Carr going 21 for 31 with two scores and no turnovers. The Raiders must not let the Burfict decision become a distraction. To make it even more difficult, their travel from California all the way to London will be taxing. A win would set them up for a very nice season, while a loss could be demoralizing.
