Following the postponement of the much-anticipated El Clásico, La Liga continues this week with a crucial match between Barcelona and Valladolid. Barcelona needs a win in order to protect its lead at the top of the table after working hard to get there. Valladolid is in great form and will not be afraid of the Camp Nou atmosphere.

Barcelona has won its last six games in all competitions and continues to improve in all phases of the game. The fact that Lionel Messi is healthy is certainly helping the team have some lineup continuity for the first time all season. Not facing Real Madrid this weekend was a missed opportunity to open a four-point gap at the top of the standings, so now the job is to not drop any points until El Clásico happens in about two months.
But it won’t be easy to win this one. Valladolid is in great form and comes into the Barcelona matchup in the Top 10, carrying a five-game unbeaten streak. Top scorer Sergi Guardiola found the back of the net again over the weekend and will love the opportunity to face a Barça defense that can be vulnerable at times. However, the real challenge is at the back and trying to stop the all-world trio of Messi, Antoine Griezmann and Luis Suárez.
