Barcelona’s win at Real Betis on Sunday was crucial, not just because it kept them close to Real Madrid in the standings, but also because it was Barça’s first away victory in almost three months. It helped the team jump a mental hurdle that it can’t win on the road. Now Barcelona can and the team is back at Camp Nou, where it hasn’t lost a game all season, usually scoring goals in bunches.
The challenge for Barça is to do this against Getafe, the hottest team in La Liga, who has won four in a row without conceding a goal. Getafe is the third-best side on the road and has a very solid defense and an efficient counter-attack. With a Barça team still under construction with new coach Quique Setién that can be open to counters, Getafe has a very simple game plan with the potential to be devastating.
