How to watch Ballon d'Or awards ceremony tonight as Mohamed Salah in running

The Ballon d’Or is back tonight after the award was cancelled last year due to the Covid pandemic as Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah is in the running for the 65th edition of the prestigious award.

Paris Saint Germain’s Lionel Messi is favourite to pick up a record seventh award while Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski will be hoping for a win following his fantastic season.

The award, presented by French magazine French Football, is regarded as the most prestigious in football and a win for Messi would see him move two clear of Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo - who has snubbed the ceremony.

The ceremony takes place tonight, Monday 29 November, at the Chatelet Theatre in Paris starting from 7.30pm GMT. The ranking will begin by being unveiled at 3.30pm GMT and the ceremony is expected to end around 9pm GMT.

The Ballon d’Or ceremony will be streamed live online via L’Equipe ’s YouTube channel. Eurosport will also be streaming the award on its website and the Eurosport app.
